Couple of VF-84 Jolly Rogers names and BuNo questions

Recommended Posts

Hi there :tease:

I just realized that I was doing lot's of Jolly Rogers artworks already, but there's only one VF-84 Tomcat, so I want to change on this terrible situation :) I have lots of photos, but I'd need some help.

I'd need to find the following information:

  • port side crew names of the CAG on 1989 (the BuNo was 162688)
  • same for 1991 during Desert Storm (it was the black/white version then)
  • Any valid line bird BuNo/Names combo from 1991

I'm just done with the artwork for the Flag tail JR CO bird.

This was paitned up after Desert Storm, right before returning to NAS Oceana and was removed by the end of the summer. But if I could find the BuNo and Names for the 91 CAG and a line bird, I could make a print depicting these 3 paintschemes, which would look pretty awesome together I think!

Any help is appreciated!

Greetings, neu

neu,

I was on the 89 TR cruise. In my cruise book, there are a few good pics of 200. I will try to look at it when I get a chance and see if there is a good shot with names. If not 200, maybe 201? They were both painted up the same.

Hey Gil,

Sure, If not 200, then 201 if those were looking the same HiViz! The 89 CAG I'm talking about looks like this:

Dave,

Maybe you have the info I'm looking for? If so drop me a mail, and we talk about it ;)

Yes, I see, but this one is done already ;)

Sorry Neu, not exactly certain what you are looking for. I was there when the wing returned from Desert storm. I shot all or most of their aircraft at EOR, end-of-runway. Not a great day, it was hot and humid with high sun. The hi vis jet was shot at an air show. The lo vis cag at Oceana in 91.
