EF
I don't know what happened to Anigrand this time, this kit demands a lot of extra work to build a convincing Globemaster III. Main extras are Aves Apoxie Sculpt, Mr. Surfacer and plastic card. First, the landing gear sponsons need to be enlarged at the front end, modified at the rear end to add doors on both sides and some other details:
EF
Second, the nose profile was reshaped and the canopy windows were replaced with clear plastic from a CD case. Third, the tail profile was modified adding the extra bump at the top.
EF
And then last night I realized something was REALLY wrong, the shape of the front fuselage doesn't like like a C-17 to me. I plan to sand everything to give it the right profile, I know it will damage the canopy and windows but I have to do it.
EF
Well, I really like it and ordered a second one.
AD-4N
I guess i won't be buying that kit! I agree. I'll just wait for the Trumpeter kit in 2019.
Spruemeister
Appears to be some difference in the shape of the wing to upper fuselage fairing as well. Although, that may be nit picking. Rick L.
Trojan Thunder
Good to see someone tackling this kit. I am very happy to see this sort of progress and look forward to seeing this build finsihed... so I can start mine :) PM sent regarding some technical issues on the build

Aggressor Supporter
Good to see one of these C-17 models started. Watching with interest.
David Walker
I was curious what methods people would use to fix the windscreen profile. Very nice work so far.
PBoilermaker
Awesome stuff so far, Efrain! I have one of these, too, and have been pondering ways to fix what you noted. A few questions: 1. Did you make each cockpit window pane from a CD jewel case, or just the front 2? Looks like you preserved the clear top piece that came with the kit. 2. How are you going to handle that forward fuselage taper? 3. What are your plans to make the lower portions of the engine nacelles have that flattened appearance? -Mike
Griff13
Looks Great EF!! Looking forward to the rest of the build!
Gary West
Thats really sad, but very poor. I can't understand model companies that make glaring errors like this. Some great work and a challenging build by the looks of it.
Stoned I Am
NICE!

parche
Wow, talk about a bunch of correction work for an Anigrand kit. I don't know how you can do it EF. It is looking awesome though. Can't wait to see more. Cheers, Dave

LinerLover
Hmmm, nice to see a build of this kit, thanks alot, it changes of all these '109s, Hornets or Vipers ! Still, I find it sad that $160 doesn't bring you an accurate kit. Efrain indeed did a great work in correcting the major inaccuracies and we see it is not a simple task. Well, still have to decide if it is worth that amount... errr... terrible decision to be taken... Check out this photo, god I LUV that fat brute : http://www.airliners.net/open.file/1201598/L/ Regards, Stéphane

Check out this photo, god I LUV that fat brute : http://www.airliners.net/open.file/1201598/L/ Regards, Stéphane The important thing is that you can correct these things with enough skill. Technically, you can scratchbuild nearly anything, but that is not the point. $160-$196 for something that requires this level of re-work? I think it is unacceptable, but that's my opinion. The thing that really annoys me is the fact that some of these errors are excruciatingly obvious, even with casual observation and you can't help but question the lack of quality control. Someone did a rush job. Fit and finish are exceptional, overall accuracy is disturbingly inadequate out of the box. -Mike
