LinerLover
... and I swear I did a search before posting this new topic <_< ... Hello Gents, I am intrested in building a decent Puma/Super Puma/Cougar kit in 1/72. I don't want to try the Italeri/RoG Super Puma/Cougar kits (please don't ask why :P ) so I have to redirect to the venerable Airfix kit or Heller kits. I already know about the first one but how do the Heller kits build like ? I heard they were "snap tight" survivors. Any chances some of you building one presently ? Any photos or reviews available ? Regards, Stéphane

Regards, Stéphane About a Puma, the Airfix/Heller kit is the same mold, not bad but its an oldie Airfix one. Whirlybird released some resins, white metal and P.E. sets to improve this kit. You heard well, the Heller Super, its a snap kit, avoid it. I wonder, why you dont wish to use the Italeri Super? watching it in box looks very nice. Cheers!
Hajo L.
I built the Heller kit and was quite satisfied except for the fact that the front window was wrong. Have a look at my pics: As you can see I heavily modified my Cougar into a RESCO CSAR-version with a customized camo.... HAJO
GeejeeZ
Great build Hajo! I have built several Heller and Italeri Super Puma's and I like the Heller kits better; somehow imho the kit has a better overall appearance, esp the rotor head and the landing gear. It lacks detail though, but in 1:72 kits I never consider that a problem, as a matter of fact I have seen more 1:72 kits that have too much detail! What is wrong about the front window? Hajo L.
It has this horizontal strive across the main front window that the Cougar doesn´t have. HAJO
Kerojp8
Hello LinerLover, Hey HajoL, great build you achieved ! Building these is a very very good idea !!!! They're very nice helos, not so often built... I think Italeri kit is good. Better than the Heller, cos younger. Heller kits are older, got raised panel lines but are well shaped to what I know. But 1/72nd ain't my usual scale... I am currently converting a 1/32 Puma to the latest cougar version, the EC 725, used in the Armée de l'Air for SAR and special ops missions You can see it here http://www.arcforums.com/forums/air/index....howtopic=128271 Cheers, Richard Edited August 15, 2007 by Kerojp8
ChernayaAkula
Nice work, Hajo! I really like the skulls in the camo. Neat touch! If one wanted to build one of these really cool-looking French CSAR helos, which kit would be the best to go for? Italeri or Heller? Do any of those kits include at least some of the CSAR stuff? Hajo L.
I only know the Heller-kit so far, and it doesn´t have a single item that could be used for a CSAR-version. Even the winch is scratchbuild by me. Well, at least it comes with the floating-devices... HAJO
