Hobby Boss A-7 in 72nd

Recommended Posts

According to Model Airplane Internationals news website

Trumpeter 72nd Sea Fury also...but thats a differant board

http://www.hlj.com/product/HOB87201

Nothing on LuckyModel or 1999.co.jp yet to give us an idea of the actual sprues and instructions for this kit. And note it is not the TA-7C that was first released.

Now for the fun of whose kit was copied...Fujimi or Hasegawa 48th!. But it may be nice if an AFFORDABLE 48th may grow out of this - including the weapons! A nice load of Snakeeyes, or Rockeyes with a Shrike or two would be nice.

A question for the SLUF Peanut Gallery out there - how does the intake look on the TA-7C in the Sonicmodel pages that Haneto linked us to?

Lets keep it civil please, my crack about Fujimi and Hasegawa was meant as a joke in the original post, knowing how Hobbyboss gets slammed by some around here. Then again when did Hasegawa release a TA-7C in 48th :D

Matt

Thanks Haneto, looking forward to your next link

Going by the open fuselage panels, I'd say Hasegawa 1/48. Fujimi kit is only so-so, especially as concerns wheel wells, cockpit,.... In that regard, I'm anxious to try the Aires pit in the Hobby Boss kit!

Looking at the pics it is sometimes hard to believe it is a 72nd kit, the bombs, well yes, they look a little rough, but much of this kit looks pretty nice. Here is hoping that we'll get lots of decals to do them.

Yes I am a 48th builder but there is something about the SLUF that appeals to me, especially as the 121st at Rickenbacher was our local ANG unit and flew the little 'Fellas for years.

Great link!!!

As for the intake: looks a little flat - like Trumpeter's 1/32. Same for canopy. Zactoman's thread has some great intake pictures. Since I'll be getting his 1/32 set, I may do a little modding to the Hobby Boss kits "as appropriate".

Boy am I looking forward to those kits...and the rest of the Hobby Boss jet lineup!!

the bombs

Looking at the pics some more (hey, I've got to have something to do while waiting on a server installation to proceed...) the fuel tanks look a bit skinny, or "stretched" to me.. any takers?

Cheers,

Andre

Looking forward to it, looks nice, good detailing. Can't see any real similarities to anyone elses, Fujimi, Hasegawa or otherwise. Maybe it's all their own work :) :yahoo: ,

Gary

If anyone wants to compare sprues....

I thought the same thing....

I have plenty of Fujimi, Revell, ESCI, Italeri, and Heller A-7 tanks standing by.

That's no strange,man.

Trumpeter/Hobby Boss always release a big scale, then scale down from the 1/32 one.

So problems cannot be solved thouroughly...... :(
