Drake64
Hello friends, after to have bougth the Zvezda kit and read all the comments here in the forum, I decided to start to make it. First of all I want say that it is my second civil airplane and I will made this model as much as possible straigh of the box and I make it with the Boeing house colors, this liverie will be made with the airbrush and it will be a painting challenge, we will see what will be the result :P As per my Tupolef TU-154M with the colors of LOT http://www.arcforums.com/forums/air/index....amp;pid=1612471 I used the side windows included in the kit, so I sprayed the Tamiya white primer only in the windows area and wnen dried I sprayed the gloss white in the same area After that I put the clears inside the windows holes using the white glue and after dried I glued together the two half fuselages and sanded the junctions Then I glued together the half wings and later them with the fuselage, the same for the elevons. After looking several photos of this airplane I have identified the following blue colors for the paint: under fuselage blue: Tamiya TS-15 side fuselage blue: Humbrol n°89 Tail fin: Humbrol n°48 if somebody have more accurate color reference his help will be very appreciated :D and also comments are appreciated too :P Thanks for looking Regards Roberto Edited January 10, 2010 by Drake64
oldHooker
Congratulations Roberto; you are the FIRST in the forum to actually start building this kit!! :D Looking good, and looking forward to seeing it come together! Take care, Frank
GCA333
Glad to see some 787's being built; I have become quite a 787 fan. Will be watching with interest!
Living Legend
Im waiting to get the kit until my decals are finished.
David Hingtgen
Color tip: The overall upper fuselage is not white. It is very, very, very light blue. Only the cockpit framing and the pinstripe are pure white on the fuselage.
markjobse
Nice kit. Looks great!
Jennings
...the same for the elevons Elevons are only found on delta winged airplanes (combined elevators & ailerons). The 787 has all-moving stabilizers with elevators :P J

carioca
I like the way you build, Roberto! Clever way to keep windows clear with a nice paint job prior to fuse halves glueing!!! Keep us updated! Eduardo
Uvarov
I`am building now 787 in Aeroflot colors. So there`s two images. The pilons on engines will be gray. Now it looks like on the second photo (without glue).
Jennings
Looking very nice! Note however, that 787s are painted completely white except for the airline's colors on the fuselage and tail. The pylons, wings, and stabilizers should be 100% white. J

(well the 60's at least) i dont think it will be a popular choice with anyone having to worry about ice buildup. D Edited January 17, 2010 by dylan
Jennings
No idea, but that's what they're doing. Maybe just to be different, I don't know... J
David Hingtgen
I heard it was to reflect heat, like the Concorde. Apparently the composites are more sensitive to heat.
