Well then...what to do while the Klear is curing on the F-2? Nuttin on the teli and nuttin new to watch on DVD and the GF is on the night shift....

I ponder for a full 10 minutes before I reach into my stash and clutch a new kit to start on!!

For once I think I´ll do a jubilee machine actually! I prefer building operative fighters but this scheme is just too good looking not to be built!

I´t the Tornado IDS from Italeri in 1/48th scale with that oh-so cool black panther on!!!

Besides I found a couple of Martin-Baker bangseats lying around, I even found some PE but I´ll save that for a Tornado ADV in the future (heard nasty rumours about Hobby Boss doing one)

Neat decals, eh?

MY usual forrest of parts stuck on sprues and primed in black!

Just happened to get som wings and fins glued together as well

This will be a fun build, not a very ambitious one but pure fun! Other than the resin seats nothing else will go in the kit. The important thing is really the painting and decaling of it!!

Cheers!!

Janne,

Are you going to arm it with HARM missiles?

Eric

Naw I think I´ll leave it in a clean configuration, tho I´ve seen pics of it with a HARM I´ll leave ´em out

Good starting....I will follow this....

Thanx :coolio:

On with the Tornado!

I´ve started detail painting the cockpit, just needs some clear coat and a wash followed by a dull coat and dry brushing :salute:

Since it´ll be a closed canopy I won´t go overboard with detailing on this one.

here´s some pics anyways!

Thanx everybody

Now I´ve finished detail painting...I went for kahki harnesses on the bang seats :D I´ve put on a coat of Jlear and just waits for it to dry enough so I can put on a little wash!

Cheers!

Right..

Done with the weathering of the cockpit, since it´ll be a closed canopy machine I didn´t bother with too much details.

The paragon seats are alright but I prefer seats where I can put on PE belts...I think that gives the seats more life. but as for this closed canopy one it works alright. :jaw-dropping:

Anyways here´s the IPs...note that I´ve only put a drop of clear coat on the instrument faces and no dials...don´t think they´d show very well so I didn´t bother with that detail.

And some assembly done....the seats are not glued in yet.

And then I put the front fuselage halvestogether....eeeeeek I´d say that the fit of this kit is more aproximative than accurate.....

Suppose I´ll end up doing some sanding and puttying on this one eh? Good grief.....

I hope Hobby Boss releases their Tornados soon!! Must be better than this!

And with the seats dry fitted... (yuk not a good fit)

Well some progress at least :crying2:

Any input is welcome,

Cheers!!

Hi

I'm in the middle of building this kit, and went to stick the nose leg into its bay today only for the whole thing to come loose despite being secured with epoxy! May have just been me, but may be best to make sure its well secured! I'll put some pics of mine on when its finished!
