haneto
Thanks for the comments especially during this busy season, guys! It's nearly finished. The decal is very well researched but badly printed. It's too hard, thick and difficult to handle. I used GSI Creos glue(yes, glue!) to settle them finally. Cheers! haneto
Those static wicks look good too. Is that particular design of the static wick unique to the PLAAF? 圣诞快乐! :D Thanks,Qian! As for static wicks,I think you can find the silimiar things on F-16s and the shape is almost the same. The only difference is that PLAAF aircrafts have no paints on those wicks, dunno about the Vipers though Cheers, Yufei
Ken Middleton
Yufei - outstanding work! Such fine details in small places. That's too bad about the decals, but seems like you got the best of them
AnthonyWan
Looks awesome Yufei! Only a bit of touchup on the PLAAF roundel/bar and you should be golden PS I'll PM later tonight about the aftermarket...I have a small order for you
Fishwelding
This is awesome, and I agree, if the decals were trouble it looks like you did very well with them. I may have to get one of those J-10 kits myself. Sharp looking jet.

haneto
AL-31F exhaust nozzles PE set developed by Motion Emotion, together with Aires 1/48 Su-27 exhaust nozzles. It took time and effort, also some tricks to assemble the PE nozzle, but the result deserves it! As the inner of the nozzle is hard to be taken,I used a blue lighter. Just a little spray/hand paint, the original metal burnt effect is well performed by the burnt brass PE parts. Finally,it's finished! It's my first work in 2010,and hope you guys enjoy it. Cheers, Yufei

haneto
Thanks for the all nice comments! The PE set is just a prototype from the maker and they are now improving it. As for the official release version, there will be both PE and resin versions. I will keep you informed when it's ready for sale worldwide. Cheers, Yufei
haneto
Missed one pic! The hinge stuctures need to be scratch-built. Cheers, Yufei

Great paint work on the nozzel! Looks simply stunning! But (don't get me wrong) the nozzel kinda being borrowed off Su-27... Cheers and happy modeling in 2010! Alexander. haneto
You're definitely right,Alexander! The engines J-10s used are the single version of Su-27's AL-31F called AL-31FN. So the nozzle area is completely the same. BTW,the Aires resin nozzles for Su-27 are way too small in section size, after real things measuring. So that's why this prouct was developed(in other words,it's based on the actual thing data). Cheers, Yufei

So the nozzle area is completely the same. ... Cheers, Yufei YES, and in comparison to the AL-31F the Chinese demanded / requested for the AF-31FN the gear-box to be mounted on the bottom of the engine - similar to Western engines - in contrast to the original top-one. This is one big "first" in Russian aero-engine-selling, since never before an engine was modified to this extent on customer's demand. Deino

haneto
Scoop! Bronco is also gonna release a 1/48 J-10S. Differences from the Trumpeter kit(judged from the advertisement pictures): Include closed/open canopies, boarding ladders, opened air brakes, metal pitot tube. I'd like to get this one as I have not bought the Trumpy J-10S. Cheers, Yufei
