Uncle Uncool
Hey Carlos! Awesome build so far, mate!!! There's one question I wanted to ask you with regard to the modified intakes on your kit; here, I've circled out the area surrounding the cannon muzzles so as to be more specific: Do you see the point where the cannon fairing meets the underside of the intake? Say, is this the original intake painted in white or did you also replicate this part on your model? Should you need further reference for your build just let me know; I'm from Buenos Aires and I'm friends with Augusto Bedacarratz, if you know who he is. He'll be much delighted to see this build. Hope to see more of your work soon! Un abrazo grande, pibito. ;)

gregair
WOW. some amazing work, cant wait to see more! Unbelievable detailing! Does anyone here know...would the style / shape of the Super Etendard windscreen match a Mirage F1 windscreen? I am considering this as a replacement windscreen for the dismal italeri 1/48 Mirage F1, I don't mind any surgery to make it fit, just wondering about the overall shape? cruiz
Thank you all for your kind comments. Uncle, the entire white portion of the intake is also made from scratch using evergreen styrene, here are some pictures where you can see the cannon fairing more clearly. About Bedacarratz I do know who he is ; it would be great get some answers about this plane from him, thanks for the offer , te envÃÂo un fuerte abrazo. Carlos
Uncle Uncool
¿Carlos? ¿Carlitos...? Why haven't we seen any more progress on this project since quite a looooooooooooooooooooong time, huh? cruiz
Patience, patience; soon I'll have the time to continue with the model; in the mid time I'm dealing with the AMS withdrawal symptoms. I really hate when job interfere with the hobby . Cheers mate

cruiz
Hello Uncle Excuse me for not respond earlier, I didn't see your post until now, everything here is Ok . This past weekend I put a primer coat of Mr. Surfacer over the kit in order to find blemishes before paint; during this week I'll be working in correct them, which by the way there are more of what I expected. I hope to post more pictures soon. Cheers
kurnass77
Hello Cruiz, I hope to soon see your progress as also Uncle. Me was starting to seriously worry 'bout ya, chap. Never again, ya hear...? Me's dying for anticipation to see some progress on yer sweet build, mate. Heart's pounding real fast now, hyperventilating as well; please don't be long, aye? Salud, pibe cruiz! ;) Uncle, congratulations for the wonderful quote, Metallica rules!!! Hey, Gee-Gee!!! Howdy, mate? Oh, ya ought to have seen the look on Augusto Bedacarratz's face while I yelled the last line on Frantic's chorus; he was like, "Uh-oh... Okay, time for ya to go home, Uncle. Lunacy has found ya..." My lifestyle determines my deathstyle. Next time Augusto invites me over to his home I guess I'll pick The Memory Remains, making Marianne Faithfull's bridge line an unsettling and unending one. Say, isn't the ending on that song quite unnerving to ya too, Gee-Gee?
cruiz
Hello all For the first time I’ve put a primer coat on a model, Mr. surfacer 1000 and it was a good thing to do because revealed several flaws that need attention. Here are pictures of the ordinances after repairing some of the flaws and before a new coat of primer; more detail was added to them according with references. One last minute improvement to the tail cone will be the addition of this, archer rivet details. In the real thing there are rivets protruding in this area, after studying some pictures of the plane, I've made a gross calculation of the scale pitch of the rivets and the amount of decal needed, this is the one that is closer and one sheet must suffice. cruiz
The speed brakes included in the Xtrathech fret will be an improvement, ribbing detail was added in order to make them sturdier and better looking. Thanks for looking Carlos
Uncle Uncool
 *rubs eyes vehemently* Lord...? is me dreamin'? *pinches in the nose* Aaaww... This is a miracle! Welcome back, Carlitos! Nice to see ya, mate! And it's nice to see yer build as well... :P Awesome work, as usually. One question; are the Xtratech's speed brakes to replace the kit's ones or do they just add to the kit's interior detailin'? It looks as if the kit's one were on their way out, though. Gonna be a blast to see how those Archer rivets go on the Heller/Airfix kit. Tell ya the truth, me wasn't even aware there were rivets on the SuE's tail cone... Well, mate; hope every thing is okay with the family and work, and we all also hope the next update is not in the next century (please?). Salud, Carlitos! cruiz
Hello again While repairing some scratches and filling some voids in the fuselage and stores, I noted long hairline cracks on the left side of the nose and both sides of the intakes, Mr. Surfacer 500 was applied on order to repair them but, after sanding the crack lines appeared again; on a closer inspection the problem was due to the upper and lower fuselage breaking apart, I removed the primer and applied cyano glue to repair the joint but once again the crack appeared after sanding. To make a stronger bond, I've carved between the fuselage parts in the broken areas to insert Evergreen plastic strips and glued them with Tamiya extra thin glue and let it set for a day, then applied a layer of cyano glue over the joint and sanded to even the surface; in this pictures you can see the repaired zones, let’s see after a new coat of primer if the repair was successful. After the mishap with the fuselage, I started to apply the riveting in the tail cone using the Archer Fine Transfers riveting detail, this is a slow but straightforward process and I'm happy with the results at this point. On a side note, I’m still learning how to use my new camera, as you can see this pictures are a little better than the ones on my previous post. Thank you all for your kind comments on this build.
