Tomcat RIO
hey folks! i'm here today with some bit of restoration projects i did over the past month. years ago, before i was hooked on 1/48, i attempted a f-15 eagles of the world GB using 1/72 kits. 2 were given by my cousin after he spilled thinner on them, and the rest were built as a teenager in eons past. well, with the 1/48 f-15gb now more accurate and impressive, i return to these gaggle of jets and wanted to make whif projects. i decided to keep the Saudi single seater, Mt Fuji, Aggressor and decided to paint over the rather simple Israeli and inaccurate Singaporean.. firstly i took the former f-15SG kit, which is the hasegawa kit. added tail things and masked off canopy sand away decals primer grey basecoat and after 2 days of masking and spraying white and red, handpainting etc. added pilots Edited July 30, 2010 by Tomcat RIO
Tomcat RIO
the black knights scheme f-15sg's canopy had to be clamped down. ge-110 engine nozzles came from 2 italeri! f-16s and made a mess of the merlion roundel using brush paint. Tomcat RIO
the next project focused on the israeli aircraft. i plucked all the cft pylons and donated them to the RSAF black knights 15sg. then puttied and sanded smooth the cfts. following that i took out the vertical fins and canted them, adding some placard struts for support and lots of puttying.. cockpit was emptied as i will spray over the canopy in gold-tint on silver base and finally a good coat of dark grey and i get a F-15 silent eagle! stuck south korean airforce markings as they have just gained the export license. canopy was sprayed in silver, then clear yellow and smoke for a tinted gold look.
