ron
after the launch of the German aircraft Carrier Graf Zepplin in 1938 Admiral Enrich Raeder soon found himself at odds with Goring over the supply of aircraft to the Kriegsmarine. Goiring refused to give up any control of Germany’s airpower and Raeder refused to allow the Luftwaffa control his new carrier. Out frustration Raeder approached the Japanese about supplying aircraft for his yet to be completed carrier (after the American’s refused to sell him their new F4F Wildcat fighters). Japan was quick to capitalize on the opertunity to export aircraft in return for raw materials so they arranged for three prototyes to be smuggled into Celle German for evaluation…. Ok so that's not really true, I had this Zero in the stash for sometime. After staring at in one night it occured to me that it would make one good looking plane in NMF. I actually posted it here before. Last night I was staring at it on the bench while waiting for some paint on my spit to dry and it occured to me that I would look pretty neat with a red band tail and German markings. So it got them while I waited. Throw a little story behind it and it almost seems like it could be true... Thanks for looking, sorry for wasting your time!! ;) Edited May 3, 2007 by ron
smithery
Last night I was staring at it on the bench while waiting for some paint on my spit to dry..... Looks great Ron. One tip though....aim the airbrush towards the model, not your mouth. While paint on your spit might taste good, I'm not sure it's a good health choice in the long run. ;)

I've just been informed by a fellow ARCer (Thanks, Nick :) ) that that masterpiece was built by a gentleman named Matrixone on the What-If site. Kudos to him and his awesome workmanship :) :o
