bonfire79
Hey fellas, I need a spare 7-shot rocket pod from the 1/35 Academy OH-58D Kiowa kit. If anybody has one they could live without, it would be greatly appreciated! Question- What colors were the army flying fatigues for Vietnam Huey gunship crews? Olive drab or dark green? How about the chicken plate armour... same as the fatigues or different? second question- what did the crew chiefs and gunners use to keep strapped in the hueys? Did they use the regular seatbelts or some other modified strap to keep them from falling out of the aircraft? I'm currently building MRC's UH-1C Frogshark. I'm really enjoying the build so far.... Thanks! Ben Nielsen
grandadjohn
Flight suits, jungle fatigues, chicken plates, etc were all OD, but varied in shade. Crew chief's and gunners wore a strap called a "monket harness" which allowed more movement inside the aircraft but keep you from falling out. The "tail" had a clip that you would attach to to a ring on the aft bulkhead or the floor.

I have the walkaround and in-action books as well. Thanks!
