nesteaman2
I was using a black Sharpie to mark up my model after some sanding and puttying, and the thought occured to me that a Sharpie could be used to preshade. The distinct black lines can be easily faded by sanding, and there are a plethora of colors not to mention very easy application. Has anyone attempted this before? toadwbg
tried it the sharp lines are difficult to fade over
Dave Williams
I haven't personally tried it, but from what I've heard the ink will bleed through about any paint.
kenlilly106
If you use Future as your clear coat it will pull the Sharpie through the paint. Found this out the hard way. Ken

Big Kev
I'll get on the bandwagon here and join the chorus of NO! Bleed it will. Through almost anything it will. Look terrible it will. Heartache you will have. Kev
marine4 ever
if you want to use a pen. use a gundahm marker, they will not bleed and they come in several tip widths. i have used them before to darken panel lines. i've since went back to pre-shading with airbrush. but these are infinitely better than a sharpie.
