starflyer
Hi again to everybody , suddently I start my third parallel project, since I find photos about the F-16 NSAWC aggressor in blue camoufage scheme, for me very impressive looking I found in the shop all what I need, except Two Bobs decal's sheet and big horizontal stabilizers (in the box, only the early small stabs are provided), I will make resin copy from Tamyia box or at list strachbuild the stabs. I also find the small seameless intake from Cutting Edge on the market of ARC forum....I just receive it today !! Step 01 Cockpit So, I start anyhow to build, at first as usually I started from the cockpit. The instruments panel is from Eduard and is quite good, I paint with new tecnique for me: at first the black acrylic color, second the grey enamel. I remove gently the enamel by paper little bit wet by enamel solvent...and you can see the result, extremely precise without effort.... About rest of the cockpit I paint in traditional way consolles and small details by Vallejo Vinilic colors...I still must go on detailing the seats ( Aires ) and oxygen tube......enjoy to watch for now. About the seat ACES II some of you can confirm me the colour of main structure is 36231?? And, are the ACES on F-15 same colour of F-16's seats?? Sorry about some stupid question from me but is my first F-16...I must learn.... Thank you.

Viper01
It's got both. Can you be more specific? Thanks.
PNW_Modeler
it's a mix of both raised and recessed panel lines. All of the smaller panels are recessed while the longer panel lines are raised. I can take a pic of the fuselage when I get home to give you a better idea
starflyer
Can you be more specific? Thanks. I can show you better with this photo, as you can see the panel lines are engraved and rised, only the main panels are engrave, I will rescribe whole panels to give to model more realistic looks..... foloow this W.I.P and you will see.... bye
starflyer
my 32nd Haseg F16A is waiting for me.. i have the eduard set too...does the front panel realy need to be replaced?? good work!! Ciao.....my personal opinion is that the front panel should be replaced, the Eduard is more detailed, precise and give more realistic looks to the cockpit. That's why I replaced. In the front panel from Hase kit whole instrumens are rised, and also if they will be well painted, it never looks as the original...believe me is not so big effor to to replace it, hold on...and go! starflyer
Step 02 miscellaneous modifications Hi guys, today I can show you more....in the week end I enjoyed to work random on the kit....and you can see about. I got the Cutting Edge seamless sucker....(tanks Pavel) and I start to work on it at first cutting and cleaning... I will paint gloss white inside.....so, I jumpt to work on every parts mud be white also.... The exhaust nozzle, do you think the nozzle from Hase kit could be good??? Check the difference here and tell me the truth... .....I don't think so, that's why I choose the Cutting Edge nozzle.......it must be fitting with kit parts, so I cut and work to create flat surfaces on both. They are ready to be painted....soon About the wheels....I check about original....I still must understand how many kind of wheels F-16 have...But on A version, I found more or less the same wheel, fortunately the Hase kit provide wheel that seems to be "relative" of the original...but I think they need improve in detailing...so at first I paint white gloss, and start to add some important details....look ...continue.... starflyer
...........After that I jump to the canopy.....GOD! Such heavy line in the middle of both clear parts! Patience in not enoug sometimes....but I found little bit more to recover also this problem, I sand the line by the "beauty nails" files (who tells that womans doesn't help modelling?? ) and at the end rubbing with compound cream to make it shining again. ....that's all for this session...tell me please suggestion or comments to improove this job, I don't know so weel F-16, this is my first Ciao
Gambler
Looking real good Davide,....that Cockpit is awesome so far.!!! starflyer
Thanks about your comments and help, now I have question for F-16 Aggressor's expert on ARC, I am studing about the colours of the blue camo of my subject: http://www.airfighters.com/photo_18225.details http://www.airliners.net/photo/USA---Navy/USA---Navy/1288615 http://www.airliners.net/photo/USA---Navy/USA---Navy/1217390 .........it seems the corrispondence basic colour of the scheme are: FS 36320 Dark compas ghost gray FS 35190 Dark Blue FS 35109 Dark Blue So, the problem is that I don't find corrispondence for the blue colours, or better, I found only Xtracolor X-124 as the FS35109....does someone of you have experience with this FS blue colours or give me suggestion. I see the real airplane are heavy weatering and the original tone of color changed lot because the weather aggression, but I must know the original starting point to replicate what I see in the photo of the real airplane. Thank you, bye. Edited March 9, 2008 by starflyer
jmel
About the wheels....I check about original....I still must understand how many kind of wheels F-16 have...But on A version, NSAWC Vipers don't use the original F-16A wheels. They've been upgraded to the standard lightweight wheel/tire assembly found on the F-16C/D. Jake
