Nuno Andresen
Hi guys! Who can share good scale drawings of the EH-101 Merlin? Particularly, with good transverse cross sections of the fuselage. Well, I accepted a very nice idea of making a Merlin in 1/32 and now I would like the most to catch some drawings. May even be in 1/1! The more detailed the better. With cargo interiors would become perfect! Thank you all! May I wish everyone a nice week! Hope friday arrives fast!

Nuno Andresen
Hey Andy thanks for the great help!!! That is already a big start. Thank you all for your inputs! Nice to feel I am not alone here! I am gathering info for one of the versions with the rear ramp (like for example the Canadian Cormorant). Does any one of you have scale drawings (the damn transverse sections) of the version with the rear ramp. Thanks to Andy , now I only need the tail to start chopping some plastic sheet! Thanks! Intruder_bass
Nuno, you are welcome! Unfortunatly I dont have anything at all on Canadian Cormorant but it definitly is in my future plans for Merlin in 1/48 What I can suggest you though is to contact Mike Belcher (Belcher Bits) I bet he has something on Cormorant! He has everything related to canadian helos! Andy Edited May 15, 2008 by Intruder_bass
Nuno Andresen
Andy thanks for the input! I started this evening by the box art : :D :D :D Seriously - I am making some quick drawings just looking at Merlins to ensure that my brain and my hands can capture the shape of the chopper. And there are so many weird shapes to understand .... gee! How complex this machines are nowadays!!! It's no easy task - too much trial and error until some satisfaction ... gladly, I think we all like this in our hobby Hope I can choop some sheet soon!
AnthonyWan
ooooo 1/32 Merlin eh?? I could go for that! :D can't wait to see how this turns out maybe a 1/32 NH-90 in the future??
Nuno Andresen
Friends, thanks for all the support. I started slowly this project. Purchased some wood: And enlarged to 1/32 the scale plans provided! THANKS! 72 centimeters of a chopper! Or about 28 inches! How big this machine is: This is not the version I am about to make. Nevertheless the front is alike. So it's a great starting point to begin this model. Well, the most difficult part is exactly the nose. So after that I made some quick hand drawings using a coal bar and drafting rough paper, just to transfer the basic shapes: And sawed a wood cube with the aproximate right dimensions. Only a little big than the scale nose will be. Nevertheless it is bigger than my fist and quite heavy: And as you may have guessed, it's time to carve this cube now: Quite a marathon of a job. For a scale model, this thing is HUGE! Well, the first dimension is carved. X is done, Y and Z still to come: Time to compair. I just hope the plans have the right angle, otherwise this block goes to the scrapyard: And for now, it's time to ID some major shapes and keep the blade carving on: Still so much to do!!! Hope to come here again soon with a finished nose. See you soon! ;) Edited June 23, 2008 by Nuno Andresen
