maurizio
Hi mates, I'm back again with a new project: 4 x 1/48 Hasegawa F-16CG blk 40 from Aviano AFB Italy with the following aftermarket sets: SHULL24 pylon for LANTIRN, Verlinden LANTIRN, Black Box cockpits, Aires wheel bays, Astra Decals, CMK wheels. Airplanes will cover the 4 31th Wing commanders: 31th, 31th OG, 510th and 555th Squadrons. The hasegawa kit will be also modified in some areas. The construction of these kits are not very logic due to the fact I have not so much time for modelling so I made what I can... Some planes will have airbrakes, all canopies will be open and all flaps will be down. One airplane will also have the rudder moved (just a little bit) together with the frontal wheel turned. Weapons payload will be different on each airplane, period year 2000. Please let me say a very big THANKS to Jeff of Earl's Hobby HAngar since he was very kind in finding quickly the 3 kits I need and for the very kind service and Danny Coremans of DACO. Much appreciated. Hope this could be interesting for you. Cheers Maurizio www.ma-files.it

maurizio
WIP made during the week end. I added some holes on the fuselage not present on the kit. The rear zone - arrestor hook area - will be improved adding more details, putting, sanding and rescribing some panels. The arrestor hook will be made of styrene plastic since the original was not very realistic. Cheers Maurizio
maurizio
New pics made during last week end. I m ade all the rivets, added the side rail on the AMRAAM and detailed the small side air intakes. cheers Maurizio
Viper01
Wow, that's alot of work for all four! How did you do the rivetting on the panels? Did you use a riveter or a needle? Remy..
Aggressor Supporter
Looks like this will be a very nice Viper.
Hoops
Maurizio, One thing to watch out for, the very inside part on the trailing edge of the wing, where it gets much fatter, is also part of the flap, and should also be cut off and lowered. It looks like you missed it on the wings you have already cut. Great progress so far, and I look forward to seeing more photos in the future! Cheers, -Jared

The area around the hook has been modified with some particular and holes. It is not finished!!! To Hoops: I cut the flaps! thanks again! cheers Maurizio

maurizio
I made the rivets on the tail during the week end together starting polishing the canopies. Rivets on the fin are very light but they are present!!! cheeers Maurizio
maurizio
Here are some pics regarding the canopies. I put the clear parts in the Future and let it dry. For gold coloured canopies I add the yellow and red. they are colors for food (cakes) and easily found in the supermarkets. When the canopies will be dry I'll add a little bit of Tamiya smoke (interior part of the canopies). Note the difference between a polished canopy and the other after a Future treatment on the first picture. Cheers Maurizio
