jmel
This beauty has been making the airshow rounds all summer, so I'd imagine a lot of people have already seen it. It was conceived and designed by SMSgt. Ty Boling, a former 130 loadmaster with the unit, and a member of ARC. Take a bow, Ty! Beautiful airplane! Jake
jmel
A few more. I'd love to see some decals for this! Jake
ThePhantomTwo
I sense a C-130 book in the making! A current unit by unit Guard book would be even better! Fantastic shots Jake, never a bad pic from you!
drhornii
That would be a good subject for the upcoming "trash hauler" GB in January...... Great shots Jake & great work Ty

smutz
WOW....now if a sheet of decals came out for this I'd have to add a Herc to the pile just for those markings. Andy.
C-130CrewChief
Jake! Awsome! I wish every unit could do somthing like this! It would be like a CG bird or somthing. Sure beats having a white border around the tail flash. How the heck did you all get aproval? Curt
Mad Viper
Awesome photos. That's one cool looking Hercules.

jefropas
The best looking Herk I've ever seen! Had a bad pic of since it was first painted up that way and pics started emerging. Of course Jake, yours are way better....thanks! Jeff
jai5w4
Superb photography, Jake. Thanks for sharing. -John
jmel
Thanks, guys. I'm glad you enjoyed the photos. It really is a very pretty airplane, and a great way to honor the history of the Ohio ANG's squadrons. We really need some decals for this aircraft! Jake
Aggressor Supporter
That very first pic of 794 is just gorgeous! The lighting is just awesome.
FlyARGuard
Parked next to that Herc at Tyndall one weekend. It is interesting that is for sure.
Rick in Maine
Beautiful shots, Jake. Makes a Herc look almost purty. As for a model, I get the shakes thinking about bending decals around those nacelles, even with today's high quality sheets. But, I want one, I want one! Bugfan
WELL DONE JAKE!!! Your photos just continue to amaze me, such clarity and composition. THANKS for sharing, Jack aka BUGFAN
jmel
Thanks guys!! I am glad you liked the photos. As for a model, I get the shakes thinking about bending decals around those nacelles, even with today's high quality sheets. But, I want one, I want one! I hear you about the nacelle decals, but I think trying to add any detail to the inside of the airplane would be worse. I've been inside a 130 before at airshows, but this was the first time I'd ever really looked around inside one. There are things stuffed everywhere inside these airplanes. I'd love to see someone brave enough to super detail a 1/48 model!! Jake
CRASCA
Jake, Great shots! WHere did you do your air-air?? I love the background in some of those. I had the pleasure of seeing this at T.O.M. this year, and it really is a good looking Herc! Thanks Jake, Craig
jmel
WHere did you do your air-air?? I love the background in some of those. Thanks, Craig. We started out from Mansfield, Ohio, where the 179AW is based. We departed northbound and flew over Lake Erie and Put-In-Bay (South Bass Island), then flew back in a low-level MTR before making a few passes over the base. We were up a little less than two hours.
