rom
Hello there! the Su-17 is just on my stash... http://www.arcforums.com/forums/air/index....howtopic=172899 ...and i continue with this big beast... I have done two Tomcats this summer, but in 48th: http://www.arcforums.com/forums/air/index....5&hl=Tomcat http://www.arcforums.com/forums/air/index....3&hl=Tomcat So this is my first 32nd Tomcat build, i will more focus on painting job and weathering than on details... here are the two addons i've got: Lets start! The main fuselages present raised panel lines :P Go for rescribing!! The front is started: I need to improve my technic... the lines aren't very clean. bye! toadwbg
Sweet start. I've got the same boxing and am thinking about getting it started this winter. I'll be using the Techniks pit set and NOT rescribing (I can't get the hang of it!). I havn't decide what decals I'm dolng yet...
Alpagueur
Hi rom, nice job as well Scribing the Tamiya Cat is an hard (and long) work cheers, Luca
Adam Baker
Are you using any kind of guide for your scribing? I can highly recommend Dymo Label Tape for that sort of thing. I havent scribed a model w/ it, but I have rivetted a model using Dymo, and it works amazingly well, and Im sure it would work great for scribing.
ChernayaAkula
Nice choice of markings!

Skull Leader
nice touch with one side of the RIO's coaming canvas being newer looking than the other side... most builders don't think about that :D

rom
thanks!! I started the exhausts : I used Humbrol metalcote as basis , then brown, white, black, yellow.... and rusty pigments bye!
sweaty
The pit, the scribing, the exhaust and the wheel well all looks very nice As for the scribing what sort of time frame is it taking, i want to do a big cat and have the revell one but all the aftermarket is for the tamiya one, exhaust and cockpit, but i'd like to have the recessed panels lines but i'm a wee bit lazy and don't want to bite off more than i can chew . This is because i only have enough room for one big cat Edited December 28, 2008 by sweaty
rom
hello sweaty! rescribing sure take time!! i cant precisly tell you how much time i spent on it... and i'm not done with it! I alternate scribing and the build itself... in this way it's less boring! If you want to build a big cat without rescribing, the revell one is an option. But i find that it lacks of details... so i prefered the Tamiya. But are you sure that the aftermarket you have got wont fit in the revell cat? It could be interesting to do some tests... bye!
