designfriemel
Hi, I am planning my 1/48 diorama of a Nimitz-class flight deck. I need some dimensional reference to get it 'right' The catapult's length is a good starting point, I think. Does anyone have an idea? The Blast shield's dimension would also be a helpful reference. The 'Box' area is also important. Does anyone know the dimensions here? What size does that Bunker thingy (sorry I don't know the proper term) have??? Also I would like to know what colour the lights on the flight deck have. I found this deck plan but I have no idea what lights have which colour. Any help/link is greatly appreciated! I am looking forward to create a thread in the diorama forum and post any reference material there - as a reference library. If that has been done already... please let me know and just drop me a line! thx in advance fellow ARCers!!! regards, Martin

Reddog
IIRC The centerline and port and starboard ladder lights (landing area) lights where white and the foul line lights were red. The deck edge lights were light blue and the lights on the bow were white. The lights on the island were orange. HTH Reddog
Wayne S
Are you looking for a certain ship? Could possibly find one from space (Google Earth) use print screen then past the images together to get a larger image. Could even take it further if you had a CAD program and scale it up some to get to reference from the image.
