tiger331
Hello, I saw somewhere on the Net a picture of Mi-26 rotor head from top (visible cabels etc.). But I was not able to download it and now I cannot find it anymore. Do you know or have soebody some pictures of rotor head from above view? It can maybe help in preparation of PE set for ths model. Flankerman
Great photos Dylan.... many thanks for showing them. Do you know anything about the tail bumper operation on the Mi-26 ???? As I understand it, it retracts when the ramp is down - so that trucks can reverse up to the ramp without hitting the tail bumper. You can see it in the rear view photo. What I don't know is - whether this is 'automatic' and linked to the operation of the ramp. Or is it a separate switch that has to be manually operated ??? All I know is, if the ramp is down, the tail bumper is up. Cheers Ken
dylan
pure speculation here Ken, but i would think if the ramp is down and the weight is on the wheels that the tail bumper would retract automatically. as soon as the rotors stopped turning there was a truck right under the ramp unloading the cargo. and i know for a FACT that the last thing a congolese truck driver is concerned with is the tail bumper. there are alot of really clever things designed into the Mi-26 like the rivets on the cabin roof are pointed so you dont slip off and that the entire rotor pylon folds out into a LARGE maintenance platform. I watched this crew change an entire rotor head in an afternoon in Entebbe a few months after these shots were taken. watching the test flight was really something to behold. Hi Mario Actually I made many pictures but this is for a magazine. It is to be published in Tamiya Model Magazine French Edition in September. For the paint I tried to reproduce some of the colours I saw on pictures. I used : Su 27 light blue Xtracolor X 602 Mi -24 light stone Xtracolor X 604 Faded olive drab Xtracolor X 113 Patrick
mario krijan
Thanks Patrick! When magazine came out, be free to post pictures! I buy Zvezda Mi-26, but I rather prefer those shark mouth Belarus markings, or some UkrAF Mi-26s! How we will paint red star on floor?
