VAQ-136 Sunny Tail Prowler

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone,

May i present my latest creation : a Monogram EA-6B Prowler, comlpete with CE seamless intake and correction set, Blackbox wingfold and cockpit set, Royale Resin wheels and last but not least, Superscale decal. If you are interested in the building process, you are most welcome to check out the In-progress thread.

I complimented the a/c with a wonderful tractor from PWMP and figures from Hasegawa and Fujimi. The resin deck is from a company called Just Plane Stuff and is a product i would highly recommend.

I was also fortunate enough to place first in my class with this entry in the recent Airfix Cup competition back here in Singapore. I willl let the pictures do the rest of the talking. All comments are welcome and thanks for looking

Hi RedFlag,

There is so much good about this diorama that is hard to know what to say or where to start. I agree with Spooky, a very well deserved first place. :P

I enjoyed watching this one come together over in the "In-Progress" forum and it is a treat to see it here in all of its' glory.

Stand out shots for me are the first pic (that gold effect on the canopy is very convincing) and the last shot where your Prowler appears to be strapped down on the lift, ready to go up on deck

The one and only observation I would make (not a criticism I hasten to add) is that if it were my model I think I'd dirty up the red on the wingfolds and crew boarding step a bit but this is extremely minor and comes down to personal preference. It certainly does n't detract from the appearance of the finished model one bit.

Thank you for taking the time to share your photos and congratulations on turning out a very impressive and memorable model.

This bird caught my interest from the very beginning, when I found the WIP. I've been following it closely,

and it turned out just stunning! All the detail you've put into this bird is simply amazing. This kind of building

technique is what I personally aim for. To be this good is my goal, you've done a bl**dy great job on the Prowler!

And it sure does deserve that first place, no doubt about that!

Hi G,

Your observation was spot-on! i admit i sorta "chicken out" when i did the weathering on this build. Partly, i was afraid of risking a less than "ideal" paint job after the many hours spent on building it up. so i took the safer approach and did wat i was knew would work. i will work on my weathering technique so that i wil be confident in my next "high risk" build. Thanks :D

Thanks Niklas for your support :) I am not worthy. This is a hobby where one will never stop learning. Let's learn from each other by contributing to this forum :worship:

Spooky, Lothar, Eagle1, Tomcat Fan, VFA-103guy and Qian, appreciate your kind words and thanks for stopping by

Beautiful!!! Your attention to detail is noteworthy and the realism shown in a minimally sized diorama, just large enough to encompass the aircraft shows your careful planning. Although this is an aircraft I have little interest in modelling, your work is truly inspirational.
