Just one question, not related to H-4; When will An-225 in 1/144 be released? It has been announced for some time.

Span of 135 inches..Mondter of ALL MONSTERS as the write up says !!!{Translated link.....http://modelizm.pl.ua/Glavn/trans.html } 135 inches? Like 3,5 meters? Do you really think so? It isn't inches, it is cm.
Huey Gunner
Correct me if I'm wrong here. At an actual wing span of 319 feet 11 inches. that works out to 53.3 inches in 1/72 scale. Whoa!!!
Petarvu
Hello. Tomorrow add fotos plastic details.Relese Date: October - November 2009 If you have any questions, i may answer. Have you considered Tu-144 for AMonster series? (1/100 or 1/144) Thanks! Petar
MiG31
Last I read, this thing was supposed to be 1:144. At 1:72 this thing could easily be the centerpiece of my 1:72 collection, even if I were to get a 1:72 B-36. Good grief.
Kevan Vogler
Have you considered Tu-144 for AMonster series? (1/100 or 1/144)Thanks! Petar I'd love to see AModel do the Tu-128 Fiddler in 1/144 myself. I'm assuming the 1/72 H-4 will be using the glass fibre molding method?
HOLMES
135 inches? Like 3,5 meters? Do you really think so? It isn't inches, it is cm. I realize that BUT THE english translation says .." SPAN ...135 INCHES "" What can I say... :D click on the BRIT FLAG and scrll down ..No word of a lie !!
MiG31
I think it meant to read "135 centimeters", which does, indeed, convert to ~53 inches.
john53
It fits if I get rid of the bed.......naaaaaahhhhh, just no ambience in styrine!!!!
cornfedrat
Hmmm....thats a heck of a 1/72 Armor storage bin with wings....Must Have...Really Curious bout fuselage construction tho...I can see warping issues coming strong
John Thompson
Hello. Tomorrow add fotos plastic details.Relese Date: October - November 2009 If you have any questions, i may answer. If Amodel are willing to do this monster, a 1/72 Yak-1b should be no problem! Is there any hope? Thanks! John
Lucien Harpress
Sure, I spend three+ years working on what I'm SURE will be the only Spruce Goose in 1/72, and then they come out with THIS thing. The thing is, I spent $400 on my kit, which is kind of a POS. With the prices on the last few Amodel kits, however, it still might be a deal. It does look MUCH better detailed, however. Oh, and the 53 inch spec is accurate. (The smaller kit is Revell Germany's Bv 222, same scale.) The question now- try to finish mine, or wait until this new kit is out? At this point, it all depends on the price. Edited September 15, 2009 by Lucien Harpress
Aaronw
Well I think you are being very hard on your build, it looks good to me. Has anyone built one of these multi-media Amodel kits with the fiberglass parts? I'm interested in their 1/72 Mi-6 kit, but I'm not sure what to expect since I believe it is one with fiberglass parts. I've built some Amodel styrene kits and they took some work to put together. I don't mind the added work but I've never built a kit using fiberglass so at close to $100 I want to make sure its something I can build.

I usually see it got for 50-60 $. Here are some sprue shots: http://modelizm.pl.ua/publ/10-1-0-333 PS: In the original link it is said 135 cm. (i can read russian) I know it is just translated wrong by translater. I just wanted to "intercept" HOLMES' message, so that we wouldn't get 5000 messages of people running around and screaming it is almost 3.5 meters long in wingspan. Flankerman
Has anyone built one of these multi-media Amodel kits with the fiberglass parts? Yes - quite a few. I've done the An-22........ ...the Il-38.... ...the Il-76..... ... the M-50 ........ ... the Mil V-12 ........ ... with the Beriev A-50, Myasischev 3M, Buran etc on the 'to do' pile..... I'm interested in their 1/72 Mi-6 kit, but I'm not sure what to expect since I believe it is one with fiberglass parts. The Mi-6 is a 'standard' injection-moulded kit, not in their 'Amonster' (fibreglass) range.... I've built some Amodel styrene kits and they took some work to put together. I don't mind the added work but I've never built a kit using fiberglass so at close to $100 I want to make sure its something I can build. They are not Tamigawa kits - being limited run with low-pressure mouldings that require lots of cleaning up. But they are accurate - and no-one else is going to cover the subjects they tackle. Each new release also gets better - sharper, cleaner moulding, better detail etc. As you can see, I am a big fan - because they are the only ones making the subjects I am interested in.... Gambler
Yes - quite a few.Ken Bloody nice builds Ken!! Jeff.
pin
But they are accurate Most of them are reasonably accurate, but there are known "bugs", for example Il-18 has wrong nose shape and A-50 misses winglets under radar dish. http://forums.airforce.ru/showthread.php?t=2245 My pain with their multimedia kits are panel lines - fibergrass is too hard to scribe. AModel re-issues are usually better in quality than original release, for example T-4 seems relatively easy build so far. mbittner
Unfortunately their I-153 is just as *in*accurate as all the rest <groan>. Sure would like to see them retool that one (oh, and I echo John's statement, bring out a Yak-1b!!!!!!).
