moeggo Posted October 7, 2009 Author Share Posted October 7, 2009 I would say the PE would be included as it has the same kit code printed on it Quote Link to post Share on other sites
TXCajun Posted October 7, 2009 Share Posted October 7, 2009 Cool. They include Johnny Johnson's Aircraft. Now to find some 1/32nd scale Beer Kegs! Quote Link to post Share on other sites

caiotfjr Posted October 7, 2009 Share Posted October 7, 2009 I will do.. It was only setup day today, but I will try to get around tomorrow and take a few more. I saw three paint bottles in front of the three spray paint cans at the right corner. Are those what I'm thinking? Quote Link to post Share on other sites
Huey Gunner Posted October 7, 2009 Share Posted October 7, 2009 Even the display set up is impressive. Quote Link to post Share on other sites

Jennings Posted October 7, 2009 Share Posted October 7, 2009 Cool. They include Johnny Johnson's Aircraft.Now to find some 1/32nd scale Beer Kegs! Wrong airplane. That was JE - Jjr, not this airplane. Decals for Junior are included on the Victory Productions Spitfire Aces sheet that's forthcoming. J Quote Link to post Share on other sites
Jennings Posted October 7, 2009 Share Posted October 7, 2009 (edited) Y'know, looking at the way that fuselage is broken down, it's not entirely impossible that we're going to see other (earlier) Spit variants. That basic rear fuselage from the firewall back is identical to earlier marks... Something to ponder (and salivate over)! And BTW, notice short AND long span ailerons!! On the same sprue!!! martin_sam_2000 Posted October 7, 2009 Share Posted October 7, 2009 OHHHHH!!!! This looks great!! I can't wait to get my hands on this...I wonder how I can sneak this past SWMBO!! HEHE Sean Quote Link to post Share on other sites
Jennings Posted October 7, 2009 Share Posted October 7, 2009 Just noticed something on JE-J... When the research was underway back in 2002 for the Victory Productions Spit Aces sheet, the consensus of the world-wide group of Spitfire boffins that the Canadian maple leaf decal under the windscreen was red, not green as was often quoted. IIRC (it's been seven years) there was some reference found to a description of the thing, and it was red. Fortunately it's included (in red) on the Victory 1/32 sheet ;) J Quote Link to post Share on other sites

Julien It's about time they did these colors in the bottle. Although I don't mind mixing my own too much. What are those colors- Dark Green, Med. Sea Gray? What about the bottom color? RAF: INTERIOR GREEN---> XF5:1 + XF21:3 + XF65:1 DARK GREEN--> XF58:1 + XF62:5 DARK EARTH--> XF52:1 + XF64:1 OCEAN GRAY--> XF18:1 + XF21:2 + XF24:2 MIDSTONE------> XF59:1 + XF60:1 SKY----------------> XF21 MED. SEA GRAY--> XF19:3 + XF54:5 AZURE BLUE---> X16:2 + XF2:10 + XF18:5 Quote Link to post Share on other sites
Edgar Posted October 7, 2009 Share Posted October 7, 2009 (edited) But, also, there was a stand-off RC competition, several years ago, where the modeller was taken to task for having the leaf green, and he produced a letter, from Johnson, confirming that it really was green, so you pays your money, and you take your choice............ I think that, rather than there being long and short ailerons in the same kit, they are (like all of the other control surfaces) top and bottom "halves," with the outer sections wrapped round, and, if that doesn't presage a Mk.VIII, with those pieces being cut off, and stuck to the wingtips, or new wingtips with extra bits in place, as ICM did, I'll be amazed. Mostly they would be Dark Green/Ocean Grey on top, with Medium Sea Grey underneath. Skalski's will be Dark Earth/Middle Stone over Azure Blue. Clearly the photos show five and four spoked wheels, early and late elevators, clipped and "normal" wingtips, round and fishtails exhaust pipes, among other options. The way Tamiyas moulded the aft fuselage, with a separate insert for the lower part indicates we can expect mK VIII and, possibly, VII. Lastly, the three colours seem to be Dark Green, Ocean Grey and Medium Sea Grey. PS: I'll wait the inevitable 1/48th version... Quote Link to post Share on other sites
