loftycomfort
Hi all, Here's my first finished model of 2010 - the Trumpeter 1/32 F-14D Tomcat. I started it in early January and have been working on it for the last three and a half months. Other than the kit itself, I also put in the following ingredients (all designed for the Tamiya tomcat kit): Avionix resin cockpit set Aires resin exhaust Eduard interior PE Zotz VF-2 "Bounty Hunters" decals set CAM GBU-10 resin bombs There were also a bit of scatch building done to enhance the details in the cockpit as well as the nose gear. Overall, this is a very complex, but well-engineered and well detailed kit. The biggest disappointment was how Trumpeter screwed up the jet intake ramps. The error ridden instruction booklet also caused problems. I hope you'll enjoy the pics. Thanks for looking. More pics to come...

Aigore
Awesome build, Terry! ;) Gorgeous paintjob and spot on weathering! It´s been a splendid insight into how the Trumpy Tomcat fits together....and well who looks at instructions anyways ? (I remember when I built my Viggie that several pages was missing from the instructions.....you just had to wing it ) Cheers!
Eastern
Hi Terry and my hat off to your gorgeous build! Very nice paintwork and weathering, I love that slightly greenish (at least on my monitor) tint on the nozzles. :D That display rack, I suggest it's dust-proof? It's not easy to manipulate such a monster getting the dust off. BTW, what next build to be suggested? Cheers and happy modeling! Alexander.

loftycomfort
Hey guys, Thank you very much for your compliments. I'm glad you like the model. I am still trying to decide which kit to pick out of my stash to go on the workbench next. Right now I am leaning towards the Trumpeter 1/32 F-8E Crusader (2008 Christmas gift from SWMBO). I will decide shortly. DONG: Yes I'll bring it to TORCAN. See you there. I love that slightly greenish (at least on my monitor) tint on the nozzles. That display rack, I suggest it's dust-proof? It's not easy to manipulate such a monster getting the dust off. Alexander, I did not tint the nozzles. I was experimenting with my new camera so it was probably the effects of the lighting. The display rack is actually inside a display case. I removed the glass doors to take the photo. So yes, it's dust proof. Cheers, Terry Edited April 25, 2010 by loftycomfort
