JAM
Hi guys This will be my next build, a Portuguese air force A-7 corsair. Named A-7P, its an Amodel airframe with Bmodel engine and Emodel avionics..a big mess when it comes to modelling. For this ill use the Hobby Boss A-7A kit to match the airframe, on which ill have to scratch build some things like tha chaff and flare dispenser, and add the doppler radar, upper tail avionics and antannae, etc.. Additional stuff to make it shine -ESCAPAC Aires Seat -Gear bays, Aires -And the Emodel avionics set, also from Aires. Ill also add some scratch detail on-the-fly Wish me luck Cheers João Edited June 23, 2010 by JAM

papasmurf
Wish you the best luck mate... Im building a USN Hasegawa version with aires pit and electronic bays.Althought the pit was a good fit the bays were a mess which was the reason I didnt use the landing gear bays! So heads up!!!! JAM
Hi Papasmurf, Your experience with the gear bays seems to replicate for the H.Boss kit The rear gear bays fit king of ok, a bit bent but with sandpaper and evergreen i thing it will come out ok. the front landing gear is where the big problem is. So here is the back one, with still a big margin for adjustment Now the front one After deleting the standard raised detail in the underside of the intake And trimming the aires nose gear bay topside, far left It still doesnt fit, by the distance you can see So more sanding and dry-fitting awaits Cheers João Edited June 26, 2010 by JAM
RookieLSP
Looks like some of the same problems inherent to the 1/32 scale LG bays, too. They're worth the extra effort though! Nice work!
HOLMES
nice work ...looking good what you are doing.
Sid de Koning
Sand both really really thin.. I am guessing that should help getting the nose gear wheel bay to fit..
JAM
Yep that is probably the way to go Ill post something a.s.a.p. Thanks for watching Cheers João
Aggressor Supporter
I am impressed with the quality of the Hobby Boss Corsair kit It looks like it will build up to a very impressive model.
RiderFan
Those Aires gear bays really are worth the money aren't they. I thought the kit detail on my CF-18 was pretty good, much better than most anyway. Then I saw the Aires bays and wow.. so much better. If I can get them, I'll probably use them on most of my projects in the future. Good luck with the rest of your project. David
