I just finished this interesting looking aircraft. I have a soft spot for tvarious weird aviation designs of 50/60s era and when I saw this model, I had to have it! Here she is, stainless steel beauty, a real hotrod design and as someone said - as if they were trying to weld two starfighters together.

Model is a resin kit from OlimpModels in 1/72 scale. Article about it will be published in one of the future issues of Scale Aircraft Modelling magazine.

Nice one Sebastijan

Excellent metal finish - not easy to do, especially on a resin kit.

I have some close-ups of the real thing, taken at RAF Cosford, where it now lives.

PM me if you want them......

The Bristol T.188 was designed as a supersonic research aircraft to study the kinetic heating effects on the metal structure.

But the fuel consumption of the engines was so great it could not sustain flight at supersonic speeds for long enough for the effects to be studied :woot.gif:

Cheers

Ken
