haneto
Got the news when I visted Japan last time in September, and it's opened on the latest issue of Japanese aircraft modelling magazine Scale Aviation. I have not got my copy from Tokyo yet so cannot tell more details. But according to the content of the magazine's homepage,it's a totally new mold, not updated based on the old Su-27 mold(See page 26:ハセガワ約20年ぶりの旧ソ連機完全新金 1/72スケールSu−33フランカーDを発表!!). MODELKASTEN - 雑誌・別冊 - 隔月刊スケールアヴィエーション2010年11月号 Will keep you guys updated after getting the magazine. Cheers, Yufei

Inquisitor
And let me guess/predict, just like when they released the 1/48 F-22, the first release of the new tool 1/72 Su-33 Sea Flanker is gonna be an Idolmaster scheme.
haneto
Thanks for info that is really good news!Yuefi do you know what is todays status of trumpeter Su-27UB 1/72? Nope,'cause I'm not interested in their molding quality or style. I've seen some CAD designs and it suppose to be an easy built(less details) kit. And let me guess/predict, just like when they released the 1/48 F-22, the first release of the new tool 1/72 Su-33 Sea Flanker is gonna be an Idolmaster scheme. Bingo! janman
Okay, I don't know what to say. Not until I've seen some definitive news and sprue shots. But... A new mold Hasegawa kit of a Russian jet fighter. Hmm... I mean a Russian jet fighter from Hase. New mold and everything. Made by a respected Japanese company. Doesn't that sound freaking C O O L ! But at the same time I must say it was about time! I'm fed up with these half-a**ed attempts (yes, for instance the ICM Su-27) and promises we've seen on the 1/72 Russian/Soviet jet front. I've built the Hasegawa Flanker and I'm aware of its shortcomings, but as a kit it's still lightyears ahead of almost anything we've seen from Zvezda/KP/Italeri/Airfix/whatever. haneto
PS: Did you bring A-50 with you to Japan? :-) Nope, too big and too heavy to bring into the cabin... I'm considering send it in a wooden box via EMS. As you can see that the column of November issue of Scale Aviation is Flanker family, I brought my 1/72 Airfix Su-27 and ICM J-11A to Tokyo for photographing, also Zactomodels 1/32 Flanker goods for introduction. Unfortunately, there's no more space for J-11 so only Su-27 was put on from Page 8. Chees! Yufei

My best maker for Russian weapons nowadays, should be the aggresive Russian brand,Zvezda. Anyway, let's wait and see. Having is better than nothing.
mario krijan
Congratulations Yufei!!! I think that Zvezda is rising star, they are doing really great work! Their Halo and Hind looks great!
shion
Perhaps, we will have news tomorrow, start of All-Japan Hobby show.
janman
Perhaps, we will have news tomorrow, start of All-Japan Hobby show. I hope so too. What comes to Zvezda, their new Airliner and chopper kits seem be to great, as far as I've heard. I still haven't bough the new Mi-24, but will get it by the end of the week. Still, we haven't seen new jet fighter stuff for ages and the fighter line they have now certainly would need some updating. Back to Hasegawa. I've never given up hope on the possibility that they might give us a new mold Ruskie fighter. That's always been my secret dream and it wouldn't be the first time they've done it though these kits are mostly outdated today. Edited for grammar. shion
It seems it's not the only news on this issue of Scale Aviation: look closely: link Is it a conversion, is it the new academy kit?
Matt Roberts
It seems it's not the only news on this issue of Scale Aviation:look closely: link Is it a conversion, is it the new academy kit? Flash the Flankerman signal commissioner Gordon Wow...first images of the Academy kit. Did not think it was a canard equipped one. The consensus was that it was the MK (or whatever designation) the canard-less Su-30. The images seem small, what else appears changed on it? Vectoring nozzles, looks to be AMRAAMski's and what AGM is that?

It's not the new kit. I was told by the editor that it was conversion scratch-updated by an very experienced modeler Mr.Suzuki. Of course, the basic kit is Academy Su-27UB. Matt Roberts
Pity the headline is 'Academy....Su-30 MKI Flanker H....' Makes it sound like it is a OOB (mostly) build rather than a pretty massive conversion Here is the googlebable translation of the magazines webpage http://translate.google.com/translate?js=n...F054250076.html Edited October 13, 2010 by Matt Roberts
Eric B.
Hi all, Back to Hasegawa. I've never given hope on the possibility that they might give us a new mold Ruskie fighter. That's always been my secret dream and it wouldn't be the first time they' done it though these kits are mostly outdated today. 100% the expression of my exact feeling and thought. That is an exceptionnally good news. I hoped (and could not understand why no) new members of the Flanker family would be released as the family has grown intensely since molds of all brands were originally released. If that is Hasegawa at the controls and new molds, that's even better news. Now the difficult part, waiting ;^D) Cheers Eric B.
ChernayaAkula
A new Flanker? By Hasegawa? And in 1/72? :( :)

Berkut
Please let it be true. Please let it be true. Please let it be true. Please let it be true. Please let it be true. If true, i hope it will not suffer the engine mistake as on Su-27 (that is the only thing that stops me from buying Hasegawa Su-27). If not, i will buy 3! :) I also see there will be article on scratchbuild PAK-FA in 1/72.
