Kamil Feliks Sztarbała
Hi I've just received newest Kagero's book- Topcolors 'Messerschmitt Bf 109 F'. So it is a great time to start to built of famous and excellent Zvezda's kit. This book comes with two big decal sheets with 1:72, 1:48 and 1:32 individual markings for 16 various Bf 109 Fs, each depicted on beautifully drawn 4-view colour profiles and thoroughly described in the booklet included with the decals. Werner Pichon-Kalau vom Hofe, Staffelkapitän of 7./JG 54, Utti, 23 or 24 June 1942, Bf 109 F-4; 'Black 5', flown by Oblt. Anton Hackl, Staffelkapitän of 5./JG 77, Kastornoje, 26 July 1942, Bf 109 F-4/Z; W.Nr. 10132, flown by Hptm. Horst Carganico, Gruppenkommandeur of II./JG 5, Petsamo, July-August 1942, Bf 109 F-2; flown by Obfw. Franz-Josef Beerenbrock of Stab IV./JG 51, Dugino, 1 August 1942, Bf 109 F-2; W.Nr. 6661, ‘Black 12’, flown by Obfw. Heinz Klöpper of 11./JG 51, Dugino, late August 1942, Bf 109 F-4; flown by Hptm. Franz Hahn, Gruppenkommandeur of I./JG 4, Mizil, Autumn 1942. My choose of painting scheme is Hans Phillip's II> with white temporary winter camouflage. Strongly weathered :> I've started with engine (I'm going to expose it a little). It was necessary to add some details (but only visible one)
Kamil Feliks Sztarbała
At first some painting schemes that have lost with winter one: but let's back to the model. I've add some more details on the engine (it's still not finished) and mount all details of the cockpit. Originally i wanted to mount ethed seatbelts on the pilot's seat, but i really like pilot's figure from that kit.. I also started work on the wing ..and i have to say it: working on this kit is a really pleasure!
Blackcollar
This kit looks great indeed!! I should get myself a couple -Al
dahut
Im not a huge Messie fan, but the kit looks great.
Kamil Feliks Sztarbała
engine complete I also finished the wing. there was the only place tat needed some putty till now- wing's end in Phillip's Bf tail wheel was blocked in open position and its bay was covered. It was necessary to rework kit's part. I've used magic sculp
Kamil Feliks Sztarbała
Some minor modifications of figure; as I've said I'm going to made winter painting. That is the reason I had to add some fur collar to the uniform. Second one upgrade is head. That from the kit is not best, so I replaced it with CMK's one Please note that cockpit is basecoated with silver- for further paint chips
Kamil Feliks Sztarbała
Engine and engines mount finished and mounted together. I've also cut a bit figures neck (it was too long)
HOLMES
Kamil The engine is good work' 'and the figure looks fine.Looking forward to more .

Kamil Feliks Sztarbała
Thans a lot! Because I have to paint immediately some russian tracked behemoth as a boxart for Tankmania's new release, I had to slow down with this project. But little update. I've finished cockpit and figure, and now fuselage is closed Edited December 10, 2010 by Kamil Feliks Sztarbała
Berkut
Wow, i knew the kit was really good, but in build up version it looks even better. And great wiring, it adds an extra dimension to the engine. I also liked yours modification of the pilot, looks good with that cap.
Blackcollar
Looking good Kamil; I stopped by my LHS this afternoon, and bought myself a kit. Great paint on the engine, and especially the pilot.. What type of paints did you use for your figure? Al
longmc
Great build! I've always like the clean lines of the F. That's a really great looking kit, and your painting is outstanding! I can't wait to see more.
Kamil Feliks Sztarbała
Thanks for your kind words! Al, figure is painted with vallejo acrylics. I'm always using vallejos for paintwork with brushes
HOLMES
Kamil MY sister had a look at your figure and SHE thinks it is AWESOME paint job {SHE is an ARTIST by trade!}..
Kamil Feliks Sztarbała
Thank you Holmes (and regards to your sister!). I'm usually practice painting on bigger figures, for example 54mm: you can click on image for more pictures
Kamil Feliks Sztarbała
a small progress. It was necessary to change air intake's shape. I reworked it with magic sculp. I've started work on engine covers- I'm going to paint them separately. And one more figure.. I think it will be a good idea to place that plane on a small vignette
Berkut
Great work, looking forward to more! I think i will cheat, and order Vector's set to improve the canopy, intake and exhaust. :D Have you seen this finished build? http://scalemodels.ru/modules/myarticles/a...oryid_3452.html
JMan
I would have to say that the Bf-109 is my favorite Axis plane. This is looking amazing thanks for showing, love the figures, cant wait to see more!
Kamil Feliks Sztarbała
Paintwork started: Masking with tamiya's masking tape and plasticine. Simple preshadeing on lower surfaces and white basecoat for yellow markings
mareku
That looks like great modeling job :)
Kamil Feliks Sztarbała
Lower surfaces painted and highlighted. Camouflage on upper wing surfaces and fuselage will be covered with winter camouflage, so i pay little attention on it
Kamil Feliks Sztarbała
So.. my computer is down, my internet connection is speedless.. but it is a time for some update. First some decals. For balkenkreuzes I've used decals from the kit- it was a bad choice. It is recommended to replace them with some aftermarkets. Blurred print and definitely not user friendly with applying. Fortunately decals from Kagero works well with Microscales decal fluids and work with them was really a pleasure I've paint damaged white camouflage using hair-spray technique. Next step was wash- I've used mix of van dyke brown oil paint thinned a little with white spirit. After that I've made oily stains and patches, with MIG's dark wash and Oil from lifecolor's tensocrome. Final touch was some dirt on wheels, fuselage and wings made with tamiya's weathering sticks and exhaust smoke made with pigments. Base is made with piece of 3mm styrene. At first I covered it with acrylic putty and molded with it 'concrete' base. I put on it some resin accessories and paint with different tones of gray. snow is made with mix of acrylic resin and baking soda
