Pratt & Whitney Training Center

Recommended Posts

A friend and fellow photographer works at the P&W training center, and gave my family and I an excellent tour today. They have a large shop with many engines set up as if they were mounted on aircraft, and crews from airlines and military branches come to learn how to work on them. I learned a lot today, especially about commercial jet engines.

Onto the pics

Mock up of the F119 engine for the F-22 - this was the only mock up they seemed to have - all other engines were real

Thanks for the photos Ken.......Now I know technology is beyond what Orville and Wilbur dreamed.....when the engines on todays aircraft are larger than the aircraft they designed...I think you could put some fuselages inside those Pratts...for sure a BD-5 would fit inside one.
