Midway Sailor
That sure looks like a F-4C cockpit to me, D's were more "E" like.Dave, who crewed C's during the 80's It says "63-7482" on the seat, which would make it an early C.J The caption has been corrected after further research: A link to the aircraft in the photo: F-4D Phantom II at the Minnesota Air National Guard Museum However, according to this other link, it IS an F-4C. Apparently they just have it painted to represent an F-4D flown by the Minnesota Air National Guard: Phantom II / 63-7482 on the Warbirds Resource Group site The correct model of the aircraft is: F-4C-18-MC masquerading as an F-4D. ThePhantomTwo
It says "63-7482" on the seat, which would make it an early C.J You are right,I didn't even pay attention to that,I just looked at the first photo, was at work when I popped on the boards and seen the thread. The IP and IP coaming is what had me say that wasn't a D by any means, the late D and E,F,G front IP are very similar, but with minor differences. Love the cockpit pics, they bring back memories(and a few nightmares..lol). Midway, what E are you modeling?
Midway Sailor
Midway, what E are you modeling? I'm not currently building a Phantom right now, I just tried to help chuck540z3 (post originator) with some reference photos. However, I do have "a few" Phantoms in the stash waiting in line for the work bench: F-4E (USAF ~ Sqdn undetermined at the moment) F-4EJ (JASDF 8th Sqdn) F-4J (UK ~ RAF 74 Sqdn) F-4N (USN VF-111) RF-4C (USAF ~ either 15th TRS, Okinawa or 10th TRW, Alconbury) Two FGR.2's (RAF ~ Sqdns undetermined at the moment) Edited January 24, 2011 by Midway Sailor
