gb_madcat_sl
After seeing some of the photos of damaged jets at Matsushima Air Base, I decided to pick up this kit and start building as a sort of tribute build. Hasegawa kit OOB with Afterburner Decals for a 21st Hikotai F-2B. Cockpit painted and fuselage closed up. Mark Edited March 23, 2011 by gb_madcat_sl

What colours are you going to use for the camo blue and grey?
AnthonyWan
Excellent idea! Been contemplating my build...Except I'd build the one with the special tail-art. Can't wait to see what you make of it! -Anthony (BTW...where are they still selling the 1/48 F-2B kits?)

JackMan
Camo colours are custom mixed and applied. Mark Hi Mark, Good work there! I noticed you're using those roll film capsules/containers for your paint mixes. How good are they? Are they airtight enough to store paints (you're using Gunze, right?) without drying up? I have a few of them but am worried that the paint may dry up quickly if I store it inside. Thanks in advance.

No problems with film canisters. I have several canisters with paint mixed years ago and they're still ok to use. Mark
gb_madcat_sl
Started on the decals from Afterburner. Graphic on the tail depicts Date Masamune, a samurai in the 17th century and founder of Sendai in Japan. Quite fitting as Sendai was one of the worst hit areas during the 11 March earthquake and tsunami. As with all JASDF aircraft, this one has a ton of stencils to apply so I can foresee many "wonderful" evenings applying them. Mark
gb_madcat_sl
Stencils galore. Still not done yet though. Mark
