Thanks a lot! Rod. Not sure exactly which of these is the "early version" but here you go. From USAAM. let me know if you need another view. Ray sighting system. Almost never used in country as it had a bad habit of trying to go through your skull in a crash! This one is on a OH-58A: with shroud: Wiring:
rotorwash
Some more. Keep in mind most of these are from the US Army Aviation Test Board so I'm not sure how correct they are for an in country bird.
salvador001
Ray, as always you rock man, thanks a lot, those photos are amazing, i have the Werners Wing XM27 system that im detailing right now and after watching the real deal, it needs a lot of corrections, and the bird i will do has the sight so i need to scratch all that system too( oh nooo), i really need a neat photo of the part that the ammo chute joins the minigun system, i see the mounting brackets and ammo boxes are different in some systems, that might be a later or early version?? Thanks Ray. Rod.

Thanks Ray. Rod. Rod, I think Floyd's parts are made to be the system seen in the last photo of the first set. Here are a few more that might be helpful. Ray Larger version of the pic above Closeup of the sight: Here is what the mount on "Miss Clawd IV" looks like at the USAAM, However, I'm not sure how useful it really is for your build as I think it is the other mount. Plus this XM27 kit isn't wired and doesn't have an ammo chute.
salvador001
Yep Ray, the system im building is the one of the first photo of your last batch, great photos BTW, ohh the sight will be a real pain in the *** to make it. Thanks a lot. Rod.

thatguy96
The pictures here show a mix of XM27, XM27E1/M27, and M27E1 systems. XM27: The original mounting hardware for the gun is clearly visible in this picture. The XM27 also featured a pod-like fairing. XM27E1/M27 This shows the revised mounting hardware, which was among the bigger changes. The M27 also featured the streamlined fairing that is in the pictures Ray posted. M27E1 The M27E1 dispensed with the fairing all together. I believe that pipe is to divert air to help in ejecting spent cases, but I'm not sure. Whatever the case, the M27E1 featured a fixed style as the one on the M27 had been part of the fairing. The USAAM, which has an incorrect XM27 mount for the subject portrayed, also has the Minigun installed upside down in the mount. The drive motor is where the delinking feeder should be positioned and the weapon does not have the feeder installed at all.
rotorwash
Thanks for the clarifications, Joe. I knew the USAAM bird was pretty jacked up, but I didn't know if that was the mount Rod needed. OH well, now most of the XM-27 pics I have are here in one thread. Ray
salvador001
Thank you guys, great photos, one more thing, do you have some photos of the ammo box and the part where the sight is attached to the box and where is the other cable connected to? Thanks. Rod.
