I'm worry about putty, near canopy is it looking good or need fix something there ? :unsure:/>/>

I would remove the masking from clear areas, sand the entire area all together, sand the clear plastic with ever smaller grit until down to micro 3000 grit, then polish with a nail polisher. The kind that the ladies use with three grits on one foam backed stick. Not only will this blend your filler, it will blend the clear parts to the area as with the real Bone. Then re-mask the windows befpre paint.

I mean

Does anyone know which version of the GBU-31 was used on the B-1B in OEF and OIF during 2001 to 2003 ?

and

Is it possible for the B-1B to have mixed bomb types during a single mission ? For example, GBU-38 in one bay and GBU-31 in the second.

anybody know ? :tumble:/>

Here's a pic from 2003 of GBU-31's being prepared to be loaded into B-1's. Looks like the GBU-31(V)1/B with the Mk.84 casing to me.

I found it on the US Air Force website. I suggest you do some searching there, and also on Defense Imagery.mil.

Here's another one from 2003, this time with a GBU-31(V)3/B

As far as I know, yes. On the air force website I even saw a pic of a B-1B bombay with a mixed load on one bombrack. Mind you, this was a pic from recently, so I'm not sure if this was possible during the time you want. But a mixed load in different bays is possible and very common.

Hello,

During OEF in 2001 and OIF in 2003, B-1's carried 3 versions of the GBU-31 (Mk-84/DSU-33/BLU-109). The GBU-38 didn't come to us until 2006, but we do carry mixed bomb types as you discribed. We weren't able to carry mixed bomb types until the Block E mod in 2004.

I don't think 86-0121 was deployed in 2001, but she was deployed for OIF in 2003. She flew 21 missions and dropped 798,000 lbs worth of GBU-31s. She performed well.

At http://www.targetlock.org.uk/b-1/production.html they wrote about B-1B 86-0121: "Moved to Ellsworth from Mountain Home 2002. At Royal International Air Tattoo, RAF Fairford, July 2003. Flew a record-breaking 21.7 hour sortie over Iraq in December 2003." Does anyone know what fitting (bombs, sniper pod) those B-1Bs had when this happened?

GBU-31s in the Mid and Aft Bays, Fuel Tank in Fwd Bay, no Sniper Pod at that time.

A bit of progress on my project: I starting doing the bomb bay and sketches for the SOD decals. Should I resize the decal to match the scale or size it so that I find it looks good ? :unsure:/>

P.S sorry for my pure english.

Make it scale.

Completely agree, make it scale. If you are concerned about the artwork showing nicely to people viewing the model, you could always print out a larger example to set next to it or on its base (if you choose to do one). Beautiful work on those bomb bays.

I do have some detail pics of some of the B-1s down at Dyess if you need anything. Not a huge collection, but some.

Cheers,

Dave
