digit
Well this is unusual news: http://scalemodels.ru/news/8000-anons-Modelsvit-1-72-bartini-vva-14.html No subject too esoteric, we really live in the golden age of scale modeling. Flankerman
I've been posting about it over on Britmodeller. I for one can't wait to get the kit..... :banana:/> I've done the Anigrand 1/144 scale 14M1P ekranoplan variant....... ... but this new 1/72 scale kit is of the original VTOL ASW machine - the VVA-14. Be still my beating heart...... :worship:/> Ken Edited September 18, 2014 by Flankerman
ya-gabor
Look forward to the kit. It is of special interest for me since it had an early development verison of the Zvezda K-36 ejection seat. Best regards Gabor

Er you're gonna buy the kit or not for the seats ? :) The subject is too big and too weird for me to buy in 1/72. I would have prefered a 1/144 kit.

Flankerman
With a wingspan of 30.5m / 99 ft it isn't much smaller than an Avro Lancaster Mine's ordered from ModelsUA Now.... which configuration to build........ 1. On its temporary wheeled undercarriage with rubber floats retracted - as it was successfully flown. 2. On its wheels with the floats inflated - also as tested & flown. 3. On its floats only, without the undercarriage as it was designed to be operated. 4. On its floats, with the bank of 12 lift engines operating as a VTOL machine - as it was originally intended. Rich in name only
If you really are taking a poll on "which configuration": What a production version would be within the limits of the basic kit parts (fuselage, floats, etc), based on conceivable lessons-learned from flight/ops testing. If I understand, this was a prototype for a larger operational type but that would be a scratch-build. Of course, first lesson learned during development is that the prototype was so good and useful that a production version was ordered. Fill in the blank: What if would have been _________. Of course, you would select your lessons-learned which would lead to a big fight here so you'd want plenty of guns on it to use on anyone who didn't realize the great opportunity to give us more enjoyment by offering the lessons that they learned from their flight/ops test.
