gb_madcat_sl
Picked up this kit at my LHS today for a cool $38. Plastic inside is the same as their F-15C MSIP II kit but what is interesting are the markings and weapons included. Decals are provided for only one aircraft; that of F-15C 85-0100 belonging to the 123d Fighter Squadron of the ORANG. This particular Eagle was used for the fini flight of one Col Jeffrey Hwang who was credited with 2 MiG-29 kills over Bosnia during Operation Allied Force. Thus, the jets sports 2 kill stars near its cockpit. The included ordnance are not the usual GWH one-piece affairs. Instead, they provided 2 copies of the weapon sprues from Kinetic's F-16 kit. A little disappointing but I guess it was probably cheaper this way. As a side note, I understand from the LHS boss that the Strike Eagle is on the way from GWH. Laurent
As a side note, I understand from the LHS boss that the Strike Eagle is on the way from GWH. Risky when it comes to the western market.
Falcon053
Why can't I ever come across kits like that at my LHS...oh yea, closest one is like 45 miles away. Great score!

White Wolf
Oh? How so? Mark Probably because to them, the Revell is the only 1/48 F-15E worth talking about and they won't consider anything else. I got the kit from the LHS too. I was pretty shocked when I saw the price on the Facebook page and had to check if it wasn't a typo.
achterkirch
I can get the Revell kit for about 20 dollars. Can't really beat that.
dehowie
The latest boxing of the Revell kit with Weapons is more expensive in our LHS than to mail order a GWH kit... Things have turned against Revell with expensive shipping out of the US..

The problem is that the Revell Strike Eagle isn't easily found here and shipping it in costs too much. Mark
galfa
The latest Hasegawa release, the 2005 Tiger Meet, is not bad either. It has been updated to latest standards. Actually much closer to a modern Beagle than the Revellogram. If I remember well the only real issue in this Hasegawa release is in the chimney in the upper fuselage, between the engines. IIRC the Hasegawa's got all the right smaller bits for a modern Beagle now, but retains the D model panel lines on the main fuselage since the tooling is shared with their Eagle. mawz
Operation Allied Force had nothing to do with Bosnia. No it didn't, but Hwang's kills were indeed over Bosnia during Allied Force, a pair of Yugoslavian MiG-29's had violated Bosnian airspace on an interception mission when they were shot down by Hwang Edited August 3, 2015 by mawz

Having met "Claw" acouple of times back in the day when he was still with the 493d Grim Reaper @ Lakenheath I'd like to do his Fini jet to go with the Allied Force LN F-15C i already have built. flanker27
which local hobby shop? and any further discount for SG50?
jinmmydel
I built and really liked the Revell Strike Eagle. I've seriously been considering building another, but I'd love to see a GWH release...even at 4x the price...I'd forgo another Revell...their C and B/D kits are really nice...an E would be equally so.
