Sebastijan
Wut, u not done yet? :P/> Seriously delicious kit! Unfortunately, strange job shifts, sick leaves at work and consequential longer work hours, are preventing more to be done... Actually the pit is in colour and I am working on details. Plan to post an update in a few days... I have a short holidays starting next week, so expect a faster build rate after that ;)

Nazar
there is no green ..
Berkut
Sure there is.
Raptor01
I have mixed that shade of green (enamel with Alclad Metals)and sprayed both Mirage IIIC & F-4F augmenter liners. The effect is very convincing, enamels & Alclad work well together. John

Nazar
in afterburner turbofan D-30F6 I saw this cover, the camera turbofan D-30F-6M installed on MiG-31BM, not seen even once.
ya-gabor
Better pics: This is the prototype 31 coded red 202 preserved in Monino with a different engine from the operational aircraft! In comparison to other Migs, like for example the MiG-21’s engine (mostly green in many areas) the dominant colour inside the can of the MiG-31 is dirty grey metallic with only hints of almost completely burned away ceramic Russian green. It is important to know what this green is. It is a special “heat resistant” ceramic “pain” applied only to certain parts of the afterburner area. For example the flame holder rings, in some cases the inner lining of the can area, the constriction petals inner face (from the side of the heat). In case of the MiG-31 you will find only TRACES of this green in very few of the above mentioned areas. Even then the green would not be that standard green but all sorts of faded, burned shades. All other component are heat resistant high quality steel and they are not painted in any way. They are dark metallic grey with lots of minor tints resulting to exposure to high temperature. I can only say this based on my own experience of examining from close up different versions of the MiG-31, the prototype, B, E and BM’s as well as the test example of MiG-25 which had this engine fitted to it. This would not qualify as a major knowledge on my part of the subject but Nazar has a considerable insight into this question! Best regards Gabor
Nazar
I could be wrong Gabor, but I have not seen on a heat resistant paint BM
ya-gabor
I could be wrong Gabor, but I have not seen on a heat resistant paint BM Because it was burned off!!!!!!! :D :D :D The photos on the previous page are of BM's at Kansk Dalnij and you could see if you look very hard some traces of what once was green, but they are really just TRACES of burned and off-colour green, the predominant colour of the exhaust can is grey metallic!!!!!!!!! You will not see anything as dominant (green) as there is on other Migs, like the green afterburner area of a MiG-21. Best regards Gabor
