skuki
Hi everyone, I've started building my big Flanker. I'll use aires pit, some eduard, LH decals and, of chourse, Zactomodels canopy set. I decided to modify nose by myself. I really like the aires pit, it is very well detaild and I didn't have much trouble to fit it. The nose cone needs to be sanded a bit more to aquire correct shape and btw it is few mm too long. Here are smoe pic of dry fit, nose con and aires set, not much but it is just a begining. You can see how the seat just slides into the pit, like a glove. Thanks,

David Walker
Great job on the nose correction. Which LH Flanker are you going to do?
skuki
Thanks David, altough the nose still doesn't look like the real one, some correction required. LH decals will be from "Guradians of the north", still don't know which one.

John Langton
Very nice cockpit! that wash is pretty damn good. Can you please tell me what paints you used to paint it and then also what paints and ratio you did your wash in? Thanks John
loki
Very nice start so far. I would like to know how the vacform canopy works out before I give it a try too. Best of luck. Martin
Zactoman
Looking great so far Marko! Aires sure does look busier on the backwall. I think I might just dress my BB backwall up a bit! Any issues mating it up with the Zactoman canopy?Unfortunately, Marko hasn't got one of the Zactomodels canopies YET (but he's one of the first in line as soon as they're released!). Jan
Hey, marko, nice job so far. I am just wondering, what happened to your Su-33 project...??? Is it painted already? Show some new pics!
skuki
Thanks everyone, Smithery, the fit is very good, I didn't have much trouble fiting it. As for the canopy, I think that there should be no problem for Zactomans canopy, as soon as I get the canopy I will write a short article with pictures of how to adjust the Zactomans canopy with aires. John, first I painted the whole set in black ( Gunze acrylic), and then I painted it in the colour of the cockpit. Then I washed it with the black enamel (revell) thined with enamel thinner (you have to use a lot of thinner). After that you have too clean the wash and on the ares you can't reach spray again with cockpit colour (you need to have a fine airbrush ). Make sure that the black covers all the areas of the set. Zactoman, that is good to hear, I appreciate it. As son as I get the set I will write a how-to for those that desided to use aires set. Jan, my Su-33 project is currently on hold. There will be more pictures as soon as I make some new progress. And yours? I am currently working on K-36. One seatbelt contains, You won't bealive it, 11 pe parts. It was real pain in the a**. I will post some pic of the completed cockpit, and, very, very soon. Thanks again, Regards,
Henk Koppelaar
Hi Marco, The cockpit lokks already stunning with a good wash. I'm looking forward to see the finished cockpit, and model offcourse. Regards Henk
smithery
Thanks Chris and Marco. This combination of Aires and Zactoman, along with the nose correction, is the way I want to go on my own build.
skuki
Here are some pic of aires K-36, it is not finished yet,. Next time I'll post pictures of the comlpeted cockpit. This set is a kit itself, I'll probably have more work on it than on the rest of the model ( beside wheel bay ). There are two seatbelts that are made of 11 pe parts each.
