Flankerman
Hi Guys, Just got around to sorting out the photos of my finished Trumpeter 1:32 scale Su-27. It isn't as detailed as Geedubelyers or Zactoman's, but I am quite happy with it. I made a diaorama for it - because that's what I thought I had to do to enter it into the IPMS UK comp - but it seems I needn't have bothered. It has taken 6 months out of my life - but it was worth it - if only to have the chance to get to know some of the contributors to this forum - thanks guys!!! I am now busy writing up an article on how I did it............. Cheers Ken
Flankerman
An overall view of the diorama.... The bicycle is Tamiya - with Aber etched-brass spokes, the oil drums are Tamiya, the crates are model railway, all the rest is scratch. Flankerman
Close-up of the cockpit - the seat is a NeOmega test shot - with Eduard etched brass webbing. The production version will have the straps moulded on - I think. Note the bungee from the seat head box to the rear coaming - an important addition. The straps connecting the red & white covers for the air data probes (one in place and one hanging off) are made from dental floss - thanks to Geedubelyer for the suggestion. Andy Mullen
Ken saw it for real on the Sunday at Telford and man it looks fantastic
Flankerman
I opened up the front end of one of the pylons - just to add a bit of interest. Most Flankers at dispersal don't have the weapons fitted - so I left them off and just put the R-73's onto a loading trolley - as if they were about to be attached. joachim
Wooooooooooooow Ken, this is a great piece of ART! You made a super model. AGAIN!!!!!
Flankerman
I am quite proud of my scratch-built tow-bar. It is quite a complicated bit of kit - and I could never have made it without Kasatka's excellent Flanker DVD Ken
Mad Viper
Really a great model and dirorama.
Flankerman
The area of 'clutter' against the wall of the revetment. The vertical stanchions are Plastruct 'I' beams, the concrete slabs are balsa wood, the 'bins' are plastic card and the fire point - it says 'Sand' btw - is scatch-built from plastic card and rod. The fire extinguisher is a plastic knitting needle! The wheels are resin copies - that I decided not to use... Ken
Flankerman
Closeup of the scratch-built boarding ladder............. Ken
Flankerman
The rear end - with another scratch-built ladder, this time a free-standing version. The brake parachute is a 'sausage' of Milliput with straps made from tape. Note the engine exhaust covers on the ground..... Ken

The first picture you posted absolutely kicks a** ....its ultracool!! I absolutely agree! One of the best Flankers I've ever seen! Where did you get the decals Ken? Flankerman
I absolutely agree! One of the best Flankers I've ever seen! Where did you get the decals Ken? I'm into shark mouths but I've never seen that one before! It's actually a 'snake mouth' - converted from a sharkmouth by adding fangs. It is from the excellent Linden Hill decals sheet:- http://66.226.87.135/lhd32002.htm Ken
