david sMiGielski
I know, I know, what-if's are controversial but I love em. So I have this RoG Rafale sitting in my stash, waiting to be built. I have a number of ideas and thought you folks might be able to help me decide which to build. The color schemes are from the Gekko Graphics site. Option 1: Colombian Air Force in light jungle camo. Purchased to defend against the Venezuela-Bolivia-Peru Pact. Option 2: Libyan Air Force in desert camo Option 3: Top Gun Rafale in blue-gray splinter scheme Option 4: French Air Force, jungle scheme. Stationed on the southern front (East Africa) during the war against the Caliphate.
Paul T
David, what-ifs are great....shows some creative thinking.I like the Columbian green scheme myself ,followed by the Libyan plane. Good site the Ghekko. Paul T
Andrew D. the Jolly Rogers guy
Yeah, I'm loving that Libyan one too, along with the Columbian one. Especially once you visualize the green roundels and fin flash on the desert one. What squadron markings are those on the Libyan machine? I have to plead ignorance on that bunch.... I'm impressed with your creativity!
bucky60k
Those are markings from No.75 squadron at RAAF Tindal. That plane would look really cool next to the ARH Tigres the Aussies just bought... Edited January 11, 2006 by bucky60k
david sMiGielski
Just to clarify- the schemes weren't designed/drawn by me. I'm just using them as a starting point.

Paul T This is not a "lybian" desert camo plane but an australian plane : RAAF means Royal Australian Air Force. All camos are great, but sadly, coloured camo on real planes will be rare in the future. Grey is the "colour" of planes now... M&M
Hi David, I used the gekko decals for this Rafale Be aware that they extremely thin, have to cut out decals by decal, the big ones have the tendency to roll up. But they adhere very well en respond the the set & sol treatment rob
loftycomfort
A few months ago I built a 1/48 Rafale in the standard (boring) French Navy grey scheme and I somewhat regret doing it. Next time I'm gonna build one in a high-vis Jolly Rogers scheme.
