  1. I am highly disappointed you used the wrong shade of black for your F-19. Better research would have resulted in a more accurate model. Just kidding. The best F-19 I’ve ever seen. Bar none. And while Monogram’s F-19 may lack the details of the Testors kit, I’ve always thought the Monogram sci-fi designers came up with a cooler design than Testors.
  2. 1/144 HC-130 radomes and noses for Minicraft and/or Great Wall kits.
  3. ‘I’m unable to get to the Caracal Models reference page for this sheet. I’ve carefully entered the website listed on the decal instruction sheet three times to no avail. Anyone having success?
  4. Building the Hasegawa/Minicraft Neptune from the last century. The instructions say the pilots have orange uniforms and white helmets. Orange uniforms seem something like I have seen photos of JMSDF crews wearing in P-2s and P-3s. Would orange flight suits be correct for US Navy Neptune crews in the 1950s? I am doing an engine gray/ bird. Thanks.
  5. Thanks a lot. Antenna wires are fairly prominent on Gannets.
  6. If you need to be introduced to the immortal Lockheed C-130, please turn in your scale aircraft modeling card this afternoon to your local IPMS. In 2006, Minicraft issued their first C-130 in a USCG scheme. Even in 1/144, the Hercules is not a small model, it is bigger than a 1/48 Spitfire. Before the Minicraft kit, the only way to make a 1/144 C-130 was from the Revell C-130A issued 50 years earlier. Draw Decals issues bagged versions of this kit (with all three different props: C-130A, C-130E, C-130J) and two different size of fuel tanks. Conceivably, you could build an “A”
  7. That Buc needs more grime. Just kidding. Looks fantastic. Well done.
  8. Quality decals for 1/48 SEA schemes for the A-7D.
  9. My dream is a 1/48 ICM USCG Jayhawk with the Caracal treatment.
  10. From what I’ve seen on the Web, the Airfix Gannet goes together like a dream. I can assure you the Sword kit will provide you with more of a challenge. 😀. It made me work a bit for sure.
  11. It’s not Tamiya.😀 Major pieces fit fairly well. Fuselage needed a thin application of black CA. Wings fit the fuselage nicely with Mr. Surfacer 500. Landing gear has to be installed way to early according to the instructions, but I couldn’t figure a way around it. Overall, a great kit and phenomenal subject. To me, well worth the effort.
  12. Paint: Xtracolor Sky, Xtracolor Extra Dark Sea Gray, Tamiya Red, Tamiya Black (few drops of white) Spinning Prop: K&S tubing Photoetch and Decals: Sword Antenna wires: EZ Line A Minicraft C-135A is taxiing the background for fun.
  13. Glad I got the 1/72 Liveries Unlimited sheet when I did. (I trust no baby seals were harmed when I mentioned that brand.) But I agree the world can never have too many 1/72 C-97 sheets. Upscale it now, please.
