  1. Yes Jim, you are absolutely correct. Dimitri spent a bunch of time measuring the airframe at Pima and proved that both the HB and Academy kits are junk. Yes, he made his intakes fit the kits and therefore he knowingly was inaccurate. He does have some ideas about how to fix the kits but we are talking about redoing huge chunks of them in resin! You see, and I know you know about that, 3D prototyping has advantages but it is not worth crap if you do not have a master maker in the mix to tell if what you are doing is junk in the real world. Maybe one day we will have a definitive F-111 i
  2. J, I built the big Anigrand kits, suspended them from my 3rd garage/hobby area ceiling and there is no droop even through the hot Arizona summers. The C-141B is just fine. As far as accuracy goes that is a completely different matter... By the way, are you not overdue for a visit to AZ?! Fotios
  3. I spoke with Dimitri again today and he is elbow deep in rubber and resin. He is a one man operation. Designing, casting shipping and accounting all in one. Dmitri is working now on restocking sets and they will be available as they are ready during next week to cover orders for this last few days of this Thanksgiving sale (Rafale and other intakes, B-25 and F6F cowlings, E-2C fairing, Lighting intake ring and 1/32 F-18 sets (sorry, no 1/32 F-4 sets so far from what he said). Be patient he is working hard. This weekend we will meet again and plan for more future sets. thanks all.

  5. Happy thanksgiving to all! I wish good health to all and a long life (we have to finish all our models in the stash after all)! Dimitri has a big sale going at http://www.dmold-modelworks.com/ and it will be over by the end of November. Check it out. Thanks for supporting Dimitri in his US endeavor. Fotios

  7. What is the reason, I wonder, when modelers buy from pirates to save a buck or two and have the original master makers fold. I mean, where is the logic? Kill the master for a few bucks of discount by a pirate and then when the master maker is gone out of business what happens? The master is out and the pirate is out since there is nothing to pirate from. Not exactly the perfect symbiotic relationship! This is close to what is happening to one of the best master makers I know of. One guy puts his dreams in a box comes to the US, legally with his family, sets up shop and sees his dreams go

  9. Hi all, It was a great omission on my part not to post in this forum as well. I took care of the jet modelers but I forgot an equally important sector of our hobby. Dimitri has started operations from his new e-business website and orders are coming in. Dimitri's web site www.dmold-modelworks.com is now the only way to get new products from him. Once stock runs out from the very few hobby shops that used to sell his stuff (I think only one left with a few sets) this will be the only way to get his goodies. Dimitri will not sell to distributors anymore as he is setup to take care of all op
  10. Some good news from Dimitri. He cannot make Rafale intakes fast enough! What happened was that he never made enough sets before he left Russia so now there is a great number of modelers looking for them and nobody else has them. I like all of Dimitri's intakes. They are not just straight tubes ending in a turbine fan face. His intakes are profiled. This means that he creates the whole complicated shape of the trunk in solid wood, shapes it and fits it in the model and then he makes plastic molds around it. This way the trunk is not only full length, it also represents the shape of the actua
  11. No worries now. He is the only source of his products and this makes it all very easy. I do not know how to make it more clear that he is in the US without spamming people. Fotios
  12. Rob, Pass it on. Dimitri is always looking for new subjects and ideas. modelworksdm@gmail.com I have a few Tamiya Eagles I would gladly donate for the cause! Fotios
  13. Hi Gene! I am trying to help him get of the ground by posting around hobby websites. His stuff is great but if people do not know where he is what he does it is all a mute point. He undertook a great feat coming to the US with his family. It is a leap of faith and I would hate for him to fail because the website did not work out or because the modeler did not support. He has a bunch of stuff going and I want to see it all come out. Word wrap. Explorer works fine. Mozilla does not word wrap the way he has it set up. By the way, Dimitri has a ton of 32nd scale intakes ready for sale.
  14. I am just finding out from other posters and private emails that you are dead on. Guys are we lame, falling behind or what?! I really thought that we were THE market for airplanes models, especially for 48th scale stuff. I am still learning....
